Terms of Service
The short version
- You need to be 16 or older. If you're under 18, ask a parent or guardian before buying a plan.
- Your resume is yours. Once you sign in it's saved to your account so it's on every device, and it's only sent to our AI provider when you use AI features.
- The AI can be wrong. Check every suggestion, and only claim things on your resume that are true.
- The 30-day pass is a one-time payment that doesn't renew. The annual plan renews every year until you cancel, and you can cancel anytime.
- Your rights under Australian, US and other consumer laws aren't affected by these terms.
This summary helps you read the document. It doesn't replace it.
1. About these terms
These Terms of Service (Terms) are an agreement between you and Rizz My Resume Pty Ltd (we, us, our). They cover your use of Rizz My Resume at rizz-my-resume.com and any related apps, features and emails (the Service).
By creating an account, ticking the box to accept these Terms, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to the policies they refer to: our Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, Refund & Cancellation Policy and Cookie Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
2. Who can use the Service
- You must be at least 16 years old. The Service isn't directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
- If you're under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you may only buy a paid plan with the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for the payment.
- You must be able to form a binding contract and not be barred from using the Service under any law.
3. Your account
You can try parts of the Service without an account. To use the AI features or buy a plan you need to sign in with Google or with a one-time email link. Please:
- use your own email address and keep access to it secure;
- don't share your account or let anyone else use it; and
- tell us at hello@rizz-my-resume.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.
On shared or school computers, sign out when you're done. Signing out removes your resumes from that browser, and they stay in your account.
4. What the Service does
Rizz My Resume helps you write and improve a resume: it imports your existing resume or notes, suggests edits, checks your resume against common applicant tracking system (ATS) rules, tailors a copy for each job you add and helps you prepare for interviews. We may add, change or remove features over time, and some features may be labelled beta or experimental.
Your resumes and jobs are kept in your browser while you work and, once you sign in, saved to your account so they're on every device you sign in on. Anything you create without signing in stays only in that browser, where clearing browser data or losing the device deletes it. We don't promise to keep backups, so please keep your own copy using the export options.
5. AI suggestions: please check them
The Service uses artificial intelligence (AI) models provided by third parties to generate suggestions, rewrites, match scores, ATS checks, interview questions and feedback (Output). AI can make mistakes, misread your content or produce text that sounds right but isn't. So:
- You're responsible for your resume. Review every suggestion before you use it. Only include experience, skills, qualifications and results that are true. Where we use placeholders such as
[number], replace them with real figures or remove them. - No guarantees about outcomes. We don't promise that using the Service will get you an interview, a job or any particular result. Match scores and ATS checks are estimates based on general best practice. Every employer configures its systems differently.
- Not professional advice. Output is general information, not career, legal, immigration, financial or other professional advice.
- Output may be similar to output generated for other users, and we don't claim ownership of it.
6. Your content
You keep all rights in the resumes, notes, job postings, answers and other material you put into the Service (Your Content), and in the Output generated for you, to the extent the law allows.
You give us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, transmit and process Your Content only as needed to run the Service for you, including saving it to your account and sending it to our AI providers when you use an AI feature. This licence ends when you delete Your Content or your account, apart from copies our providers keep for a limited time as described in our Privacy Policy. We don't use Your Content to train AI models, and we don't sell it.
You confirm that you have the right to use Your Content, and that including other people's personal information (for example, a referee's contact details) is lawful and that they're happy for you to share it.
7. Using the Service responsibly
You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy. In short: don't use the Service to deceive employers with false credentials, impersonate anyone, break the law, abuse or overload our systems, get around plan limits or security, or scrape or resell the Service.
8. Plans, payments and renewals
Current plans and prices are shown on our pricing page. Prices in Australian dollars include GST. Prices in US dollars don't include sales tax, which may be added at checkout where it applies. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We don't receive or store your full card details.
Free plan
The free plan costs nothing and includes the features described on the pricing page, including up to 3 jobs at a time. We may change what the free plan includes.
30-day pass
The 30-day pass is a one-time payment that gives you the paid features for 30 days from the moment of purchase. It does not renew and you won't be charged again unless you buy another pass. If you buy a pass while one is active, the new 30 days start when the current pass ends.
Annual plan (automatic renewal)
- The annual plan gives you the paid features for 12 months and renews automatically every 12 months at the then-current price, charged to your saved payment method, until you cancel.
- Before you subscribe we'll show you the price, the renewal period and how to cancel, and ask you to confirm that you agree to the automatic renewal.
- We'll email you a reminder before each renewal, with the amount and how to cancel.
- If we change the price, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it applies. The new price only applies from your next renewal, so you can cancel before then.
- If a renewal payment fails, Stripe may retry it. If it still can't be collected, your plan ends and you move to the free plan.
You need a valid payment method that you're authorised to use. Promotional codes and discounts apply only as described when they're offered.
9. Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel the annual plan anytime: open the account menu, choose Billing & invoices and select cancel, or email us. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep the paid features until the end of the period you've paid for.
If you're not happy, ask within 14 days of a purchase or renewal and we'll refund it in full. Our Refund & Cancellation Policy has the details. Nothing in it or in these Terms limits refunds you're entitled to by law.
10. Our intellectual property
We (and our licensors) own the Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, ATS rules, prompts and the Rizz My Resume name and logo. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for your own job search, in line with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, sell or reverse-engineer the Service except where the law allows it.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve the Service without owing you anything. We won't identify you publicly without your permission.
11. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers, including Google (sign-in and, if we use it, AI), OpenAI (AI), Stripe (payments) and Vercel (hosting). Their services are subject to their own terms. Links to job boards, employers or other websites are for convenience only. We don't control and aren't responsible for those sites.
12. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, where it's processed and your choices and rights, including under the Australian Privacy Principles and US state privacy laws.
13. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing privacy@rizz-my-resume.com.
We may suspend or close your account, or limit access to features, if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if we must do so by law, or to protect the Service, other users or third parties. Where it's reasonable, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. If we close a paid account for reasons other than your breach, we'll refund the unused part of your plan.
Sections that by their nature should continue after these Terms end (for example, sections 6, 10 and 14 to 21) will continue.
14. Your consumer rights
Australia. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion of the contract.
United States and elsewhere. Some states and countries give you rights that can't be waived or limited by contract. Nothing in these Terms takes away those rights. Where a law doesn't allow a limitation or exclusion in these Terms, it applies only to the extent that law allows.
15. Disclaimers
Subject to section 14, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties and conditions that aren't set out in these Terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free, or that Output will be accurate or complete.
16. Limitation of liability
Subject to section 14 and to the extent the law allows:
- we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of opportunity, employment, income or data (please keep your own copies of your resumes); and
- our total liability to you for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or 100 dollars in the currency you paid in (or US$100 if you haven't paid us).
These limits don't apply to liability that can't be limited by law, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
17. Responsibility for misuse
To the extent the law allows, you're responsible for, and will reimburse us for, reasonable losses and costs we incur because of claims by third parties arising from your breach of the Acceptable Use Policy or your violation of the law or of someone else's rights. This doesn't apply to the extent the loss was caused by us.
18. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect new features or changes in the law. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change is material, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect and ask you to accept the updated Terms before you continue using the AI features.
If you don't agree to a material change, you can stop using the Service and cancel. If you're on the annual plan, we'll refund the unused part of your current year on request.
19. Disputes and governing law
If you have a problem, please contact us first at hello@rizz-my-resume.com. We'll try to resolve it informally within 30 days.
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Each of us submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. If you're a consumer, you can also bring a claim in the courts, tribunals or small-claims court where you live, and the consumer protection laws of your country or state still apply to you.
20. Copyright complaints
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe material on the Service infringes your copyright, email legal@rizz-my-resume.com with: your contact details; a description of the work; where the material is on the Service; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorised; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and you're the owner or authorised to act for them; and your physical or electronic signature. We may remove material and, in appropriate cases, close the accounts of repeat infringers.
21. General
- These Terms and the policies they refer to are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
- If any part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we don't enforce a right straight away, we haven't given it up.
- You can't transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to a business that takes over the Service, provided your rights aren't reduced.
- We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
- We may send you notices by email or in the app. You can send notices to us at legal@rizz-my-resume.com.
