Cookie Policy
The short version
- We only use storage the Service needs to work: your resumes, your sign-in and a few settings.
- No advertising cookies, no analytics trackers, and no cross-site tracking.
This summary helps you read the document. It doesn't replace it.
1. What cookies and browser storage are
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Local storage and IndexedDB are similar tools that let a website keep data on your device. Rizz My Resume relies mostly on local storage, which holds the working copy of your resumes so editing is instant and works offline. Once you sign in, they're also saved to your account.
2. What we use
| Name | Set by | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| rizz-my-resume (local storage) | Us | The working copy of your resumes, jobs and preferences, so editing is instant and works offline | Until you sign out, delete them or clear site data |
| rizz-sync (local storage) | Us | Remembers what this device last saved to your account, so changes from other devices merge correctly | Until you sign out |
| Firebase sign-in (IndexedDB) | Google Firebase, for us | Keeps you signed in | Until you sign out |
| rizz-signin-email (local storage) | Us | Remembers the email you asked a sign-in link for, so the link works when you open it | Until you finish signing in |
| rizz-legal-consent (local storage) | Us | Remembers which version of our Terms and Privacy Policy you accepted on this device | Until you sign out or clear site data |
| rizz-currency (local storage) | Us | Remembers the currency you picked on the pricing page | Until you clear site data |
| Stripe cookies (checkout.stripe.com) | Stripe | Process your payment and prevent fraud during checkout and in the billing portal | Set by Stripe on its own pages; see Stripe's cookie policy |
| Google cookies (accounts.google.com) | Used on Google's sign-in page if you choose Continue with Google | Set by Google on its own pages; see Google's privacy policy |
All of these are strictly necessary for features you ask for, or remember a choice you made, so they don't need a cookie banner. If we ever add analytics or advertising tools, we'll update this policy first, ask for your consent where the law requires it, and honour Global Privacy Control signals.
3. How to control them
- Sign out from the account menu to remove your resumes, jobs and sign-in from this browser. They stay in your account.
- Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies and site data. Clearing site data for rizz-my-resume.com signs you out. Resumes saved to your account aren't affected, but anything you made without signing in is permanently deleted, so export a copy first.
- Blocking storage completely will stop the Service from saving your work or keeping you signed in.
More detail on how we handle personal information is in our Privacy Policy.
